#3 Vet in Islington, Greater London
Veteris Shoreditch 24 Hour Animal Hospital & Urgent Care is a 24/7 urgent-care and emergency service that also offers phone triage and, when needed, home visits by a veterinary surgeon. Reviews describe both in-clinic emergency treatment (including surgery) and at-home support, with multiple examples of the team collecting details by phone before arrival to speed up admission. Owners also repeatedly mention follow-up contact after treatment (for example, a nurse calling the next working day, and another follow-up call a day after an emergency visit).
Based on the latest reviews available, the clinic is frequently used for poison/toxin ingestion cases (paracetamol, heart medication) and acute illness (e.g., bloody diarrhoea), and it has supported end-of-life care, including peaceful passing at home.

Saved our idiotic cat's life. Whilst we were away, our cat managed to ingest some plastic she had never been interested in before. Made a frantic call to Veteris to arrange for her to be taken in by the cat sitter. She was seen to quickly, diagnosed and operated on. Staff were friendly, professional and made us feel at ease despite us being outside the country at the time. (Attached a picture of said Idiot Cat looking pleased with herself.)

I was so glad that my independent vet practice uses Veteris in Hoxton Square for its out-of-hours emergency service. My 13yo Maltese got into her heart tabs (newly diagnosed heart murmur) while I was out one Saturday afternoon,, ate 3 days worth. Initial contact was by phone. The veterinary nurse took down all the details, then told me to take my pooch to Hoxton Square (even telling me about Uber Pets, about which I hadn't known!). From start to finish, we were treated with such care and professionalism, and friendliness. After being treated, I was able to take her home, with medication, keeping an eye on her of course. And she's fine! However, the icing on the cake: on the following Monday, I was very surprised to receive a call from one of the veterinary nurses, just checking how their canine patient had fared over the weekend! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you Veteris. Annie Caird/Popple

I honestly don’t have words that can do justice for how wonderful Dr Sebastian was to me and my beloved dog Milo. He supported both of us in giving him the most peaceful, beautiful death possible. I will never forget Dr S - his kindness, gentleness and patience was more than I could’ve ever wished for, he helped and guided me through one of the hardest days of my life with such genuine compassion. Thank you for allowing Milo to have the lovely passing that he deserved, and for supporting me through it. Forever grateful to you. The RVN, Natasha who took my initial phone call was also absolutely incredible, I was so distressed and trying to comfort my struggling dog whilst speaking with her and she was so patient, kind and reassuring so big thank you to you as well. Overall the best possible service I could have ever imagined for such a sad situation. Thank you Veteris 🙏🏽

We had to visit an emergency vet due to my dog’s bloody diarrhea. We have called prior to coming, so the clinic had all our details already which sped up the process. After arrival around midnight, we had to wait for about an hour which is fair as it operates as A&E and there was a more severe case being handled. Everyone from the staff was kind and they checked on us from time to time, informing us about any progress and wait time. The vet quickly diagnosed my dog and advised the best way forward. She has since improved and seems to be on the way to recovery. They’ve also called us after a day to check if everything is okay. I found that a nice touch and a testament that they care about your pet. The bill came up to £200 which I thought was completely reasonable for an out of hours service! I recommend this clinic and would feel comfortable coming here again if a need ever arises.

We adopted Dave the cat from our neighbour and hadn’t had the chance to register with a vet. A neighbour recommended Veteris and gave me their number. Spoke with a lovely person in the gone, Jennifer who arranged for Charlotte to attend my home and to see Dave. She assessed him and gave us a clear breakdown on what is needed and the risks behind it. She was very helpful and careful when dealing with Dave, even when he was not happy - I would definitely be using Veteris again in an emergency.

We wanted to thank the team at Veteris for supporting us through the last couple of weeks of Lolita’s life. It was devastating to let her go. But she ultimately died peacefully at home surrounded by her family, and we couldn’t have hoped to say goodbye in a more dignified and beautiful way. We really appreciated the professionalism and kindness of Ewelina, Carol and EnéA-Lys in the home visits, alongside the nurses on the phone team and the in-house staff who looked after her while she was hospitalised. Everyone we dealt with was exceptional and we cannot thank you enough. Best Wishes, Geoff and Yousuf

The vets and nurses here were so amazing with our pup (a sneaky paracetamol guzzler...eek!) and took such fantastic care of her. We were so worried but received regular updates, pictures, videos etc and lots of reassurance. In a very worrying and stressful time, they took such wonderful care of us. Our pesky pooch had such a blast, making friends on her little overnight stay, here's hoping she doesn't find something else to get into to head back!
